We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all of the patrons that came out to see us last weekend! Our reopening was such a success that we ran completely out of food by 6:00pm on Sunday night, which is a positive sign that our business will continue to thrive even during these trying times. Thank you so much for the community support. We genuinely felt the love from all of you!
That said, we did learn a lot from this past weekend. While we thought that taking reservations would be a great idea, it did not work well logistically, so we are honoring all of our existing reservations but will not be accepting reservations going forward. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Another thing we quickly realized is that we are not going to be able to be open 7 days a week. We just don’t have the staff at this time to fill all of the hours – and all of the extra steps we have to take to ensure our customers are safe and healthy add a lot of extra work and stress for our staff. So, until further notice, our new hours will be Wednesday-Sunday, 11am-11pm. We will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays to restock and recharge.
We also want to take a moment to thank a couple of really great business allies that have helped us during our reopening. Effinger Garden Center and Kaskaskia Engineering Group, LLC came through for us in a big way. Effinger’s bartered with us to help beautify our new extended patio, and Kaskaskia Engineering provided tables for us that allowed us to have a nice “waiting area” for our custormers. KEG also printed a wonderful “Welcome back to Tavern on Main” sign that we were very thankful to have. It was a nice touch after having been closed for so long. Our hearts were warmed by both of these business’ support.
As we look ahead towards the rest of the summer, we are inspired and ready to continue rising to the challenge of serving our loyal customers in the biggest, best way possible. Thank you for believing in us and shopping locally.
